Come meet some scratchy, shimmering creatures and shiny mini-monsters, playing and interacting with one another, their arms and legs moving in strange and impossible ways. We are the Monsters is a humorous dance performance and workshop for children, aimed at portraying and discovering the monster hiding in all of us!

Performances from August 18th – 21st followed by a 45 minute workshop for children aged 4-9, using movement, music, images and props to explore the idea of what makes bodies different.

It features Scotland’s visionary guitar virtuoso/composer with the soulful voice khamak playing of Raju das Baul, spectacular exponent of one of Bengal’s spiritually richest folk forms, and tabla master Sarvar Sabri. Simon brings his acclaimed compositional voice to the mystical, universally affecting Baul tradition, and showcases his stunning instrumental music.

Blending Scottish and post-minimalist music with spoken word, Independence is an autobiographical exploration of cultural and personal identity in Scotland, from the perspective of its composer, an English-born Scottish-Italian, whose grandfather, John MacCormick, was instrumental in the founding of the Scottish National Party.
